Write for us
We commission and accept guest essays that help a Queensland owner make a better custom-home decision. If the piece could run as a builder advertisement, it will not run here.
What we want
Original reporting or deeply informed practice notes on custom homes in Queensland. Useful beats include sloping-block design, QBCC and contract pitfalls, BAL and flood overlays, cyclone detailing, regional labour markets, and indoor-outdoor living that is not just a stock alfresco. Read the topic hubs before you pitch so you are not repeating a staff essay.
Length, voice and evidence
- 1,200 to 2,000 words in Australian English.
- Specific places, products, clauses or climate data — not vibes.
- Flag anything that is your opinion, and date any regulation you cite.
- No invented case studies. Composite examples must be labelled.
- Images must be Creative Commons, public domain, or owned by you.
What we will not publish
- Round-ups of "top builders" that exist to harvest links.
- Unedited press releases or display-home copy.
- Medical, legal or financial advice dressed as a home essay.
- Content spun from other Australian housing sites.
Links, payment and disclosure
Author biographies may include one relevant homepage link. Any paid placement, affiliate mention or commercially required URL will be labelled in the essay and marked rel="sponsored" — the same treatment we give staff-sold inventory. We do not sell unmarked guest posts. Public regulators such as the Queensland Building and Construction Commission are cited as sources, never as paid partners.
How to pitch
Email a 200–300 word outline to support@worldwidebacklinks.com or use the contact form with the subject line “Guest essay pitch”. Tell us the hub, the owner problem, and why you are the person to write it. We reply within ten working days.
By filing you agree to our editorial standards and privacy notice. Accepted essays are edited. We may decline without a long explanation.
Pitch questions
- Do you pay for guest essays?
- Most first contributions are unpaid. We will discuss a fee for a second commissioned essay once we know your reporting holds up in Queensland conditions.
- Can I include a link to my building company?
- One contextual author link is fine in the biography. Promotional or paid links in the body must be disclosed in advance and will carry rel="sponsored".
- How long should a pitch be?
- Send 200 to 300 words, a proposed headline, the hub it belongs to, and two published clips or a sample paragraph in Australian English.
